We would rather sell four things that are right than four hundred that are not. Everything you find here spends a few weeks in our own home first.
It started with a bad rug
A rug that looked beautiful online and felt like sandpaper at home. Returned, reordered, wrong again. Somewhere between the third and fourth order came the idea: why is there no shop that has already done the sorting for you?
Mela Shop is that shop. Small, strictly selected, shipped from the Netherlands. What we sell, we use — in our own living room, our own kitchen, at our own desk. If it disappoints, it does not go in the shop.

Three questions per product
Every item has to answer yes to all three. Otherwise it comes out of the shop.
Will it last?
Material, stitching, hinges. A thirty-euro pasta machine has to still turn in five years, otherwise it is not cheap — it is expensive.
Will you use it daily?
No gadgets that disappear into a cupboard after two weeks. A back cushion, a coffee pot, a rug — things you touch every day.
Is the price honest?
No crossed-out fantasy prices, no fake countdown timers. You pay what it is worth and you know why.
